Footy Fever Debate - Piggy Bank Appeal

All of the tickets have been snapped up for the 2008 Footy Fever Debate!

This year's event will be a spirited discussion on the future of football. New rules, night footy, salary cap, the draft… nothing stays the same forever. As the AFL celebrates 150 years since some of the first games of what was to become Australian football, it is time to ask where to now?

Stay tuned for an announcement on the line-up for this year's panel or scroll down to take a look at highlights from last year's event.

We are thrilled to announce to the 2007 Footy Fever Debate raised a record amount of $125,000.00.

Hosted by Ian Cover of Coodabeen Champions, the hilarious 2007 Footy Fever Debate ‘HANGING UP THE BOOTS are players equipped for life after footy?’ looked at what happens when the football dream is over, and whether players are prepared for when it’s all taken away.

Caroline Wilson; Chief Football Writer for The Age, Denis Pagan; ex Carlton Coach and Barry Stoneham; Geelong legend argued that players are not really prepared for life after they hang up the boots.

Whilst arguing that players are prepared for life after footy was
Paul Gardner; Melbourne Football Club President, Steve Alessio; General Manager – Player Development, AFL Players’ Association and Luke Darcy; recently retired Western Bulldogs player.

Vega 91.5fm’s
Wilbur Wilde decided, via audience applause, that, like a good close footy match, it was a draw!!
